I found inspiration for this piece from the works of Howard Pyle. I loved his subjects of fantasy, pirates, and adventure, and also his mark-making in his black and white etchings.
Taking his subject matter into account, I wanted to illustrate a scene from the classic children's novel, Peter Pan, by J.M. Barrie.
